This classic arcade video game was first released in 1980 by Namco and was created by Toru Iwatani. In the Pac-Man game, players control a character called Pac-Man who is a yellow, circular creature with a mouth that opens and closes. The objective is to navigate Pac-Man through a maze filled with pellets while avoiding four colorful ghosts (Blinky, Pinky, Inky, and Clyde).
 
The goal of the game is to eat all the pellets in the maze, which progresses the player to the next level. Eating large, flashing pellets known as "Power Pellets" temporarily allows Pac-Man to turn the tables on the ghosts, making them vulnerable for a short period. During this time, Pac-Man can eat the ghosts for extra points.
